Established in 2006 by owners Rob and Sharon, Baum farm is located along the fertile soil of the Connecticut River in Canaan, Vermont. The farm consists of 185 acres of beautiful, certified-organic, land on which the farmers produce organic hay, raw milk, and free range eggs.

Sherry Siebnaler raises Animal Welfare Approved Tennessee Fainting goats at Morgan Hill Farm in Hero, VT. Sherry has been farming her entire life having grown up on a dairy farm, but she only started raising goats in 2007.

Together, Angela Miller, Russell Glover, Chris Gray, Peter Dixon and farm managers Alex Eaton and Margot Brooks raise 100 Oberhaslis goats and make award-winning cheese at Consider Bardwell Farm in West Pawlet, VT. Consider Bardwell’s use of rotational grazing for their goats on pesticide-free and fertilizer-free pastures produces the sweetest milk and the tastiest hand-made cheese. They only use whole, fresh milk that is antibiotic and hormone free.

Timothy Koegel, owner of Windy Ridge Natural Farms, strives to produce products that are healthy for customers and humanely produced. At the farm he observes the philosophy that animals should be treated with reverence and respect. Timothy explains, “I believe that we must be good stewards of the gifts that God has given us including the environment, the animals and our bodies. I believe in the organic system and humane practices because it is the best for the consumer, the animal, the environment, the farmer and our collective future. “

Jonas and Judy Stoltzfus raise Animal Welfare Approved grassfed Limousin cattle on Jujo Acres Farm in Loysville, Pennsylvania. Located in the lush hills of Perry County, Jujo Acres Farms has been raising premium quality beef for over 25 years. Jujo Acres raises Limousin cattle because of their “leanness and high meat-to-bone ratio,” explain the Stoltzfuses.

Sophie and Craig Meili raise Animal Welfare approve beef cattle, pigs, and laying chickens on Meili Farm in Amenia, NY. The farm was purchased in the 1960S by Craig’s father, “… long before a farm in upstate New York was anything but a dreary slog into the hinterlands,” Sophie writes. Today, the couple sure are grateful for Craig’s father’s good foresight!

Andre and Magda Heydenrych raise Animal Welfare Approved beef cattle on Heydenrych Farms in Canajoharie, NY. Both Andre and Magda come from farming families in their native South Africa. They moved to Heydenrych’s Farm in 2004 with the intent of establishing a successful, pasture-based operation where animals are treated ethically and humanely. Their cows are born and raised on 125 acres of pasture and are never given grain feed, growth hormones, or unnecessary antibiotics. The philosophy at Heydenrych’s is that if you provide for your animals and allow them to express their instinctual behaviors in their natural environment, then the animals will provide for you and the earth in return.

Jean-Paul Courtens and Jody Bolluyt run Roxbury Farm in Kinderhook, NY where they raise Animal Welfare Approved pigs and sheep. They also run a successful vegetable CSA with 17 locations in New York State including four New York City distribution sites.
