Clayton Farms is a small farm in the northern part of Granville County, North Carolina. Owner Leshea Clayton’s goal is to procure amazing food in a conscientious manner. He raises a variety of breeds of fine pork but mostly Tamworth, Berkshire, and Farmers Hybrid. The breeds Leshea raises are specially selected for superior meat quality and hardiness for outdoor living.
The hogs are raised on pasture full of green grass where they can graze freely, play and wallow. The meat is free of hormones and antibiotics, and the pigs are free to roam and play in the sunshine and fresh air.
Leshea started raising pigs at the age of ten—he was given a pet pig as a gift and started from there. He enjoyed watching them socialize and was amazed with their growth. Leshea is now proud to serve healthy, grassfed pork at Clayton Farms. All of the pork products are Animal Welfare Approved and inspected by the USDA.
