Simply Grazin’ Organic Farm (in New Jersey and Virginia) is a family owned and operated farm that believes in allowing animals to do exactly what God intended them to do—graze peacefully and grow naturally—with minimal interference from the farmers. The farm is run by Mark, Lynne, Dylan, Taylor & Stacie Faille. In addition, they have numerous family members, including uncles, cousins, nephews, & nieces that lend a helping hand on a daily and seasonal basis. They have been farming for approximately 12 years and were committed to grass-based, organic farming before it was “in.”
The Faille’s cows and hogs are hand-raised. The breeds are selected based on disposition, maternal instincts, and the ability to thrive on a forage-based feed source. With over 400 cows in their combined operations, keeping them healthy and happy, without the aid of artificial or synthetic materials, is easy. They provide only the highest quality feed, which they grow and harvest themselves, plenty of clean fresh water, a stress-free environment, and all the grass the fertile lands of the Garden State can produce.
Having over 500 acres of certified organic farm land in three counties in New Jersey makes them one of the largest certified organic, grass-based livestock operations in the state. Being Animal Welfare Approved was important to the Faille’s in order to have a third party audit and certify their work using humane farming practices, and to show that a large-scale operation can still maintain high-welfare and be sustainable.
